pingVision is currently hiring for the position of intermediate-to-advanced level Information Architect for web applications. We are looking for a seasoned Information Architect with experience with User Interface and web design to work with our creative team on frequent projects for world-class clients such as BMW, the Knight Foundation, Stanford University and Popular Science.
We're looking for a detail-oriented person interested in joining our our growing design and development team for work on a wide variety of web and media projects.
We are looking for someone in or willing to relocate to the greater Boulder/Denver area. Sorry, telecommuting is not an option. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to understand and analyze business requirements, site goals, desired user workflows.
- Conduct user and task analyses to define user needs (user scenarios, persona/profile building and interpretation.)
- Identify and define user roles, user experiences.
- Create interaction design/research documentation and comparative analysis reports.
- With regular client feedback and direction, work with Designer(s) and Web Producer to generate multiple iterations of detailed wireframes, storyboards, site maps, user flows and functional spec docs for new websites.
- Participate in the development of product prototypes for usability testing and proof of concept purposes.
- Work with Designers to ensure look & feel of site design meets intended user interaction.
- Work together with engineering to ensure smooth implementation of information architecture and user experiences.
- Contribute to the design of user testing and analysis of results.
- Drive the optimum implementation of functionality through research and usability testing.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the software application design and creation process, particularly how it pertains to web development.
- Proven ability to organize content logically to create exceptional site architectures that are highly usable and supportive of business goals.
- Advocate of user-centered design.
- Familiarity with usability methodologies.
- IA experience in "Web 2.0" sites; taxonomy; hierarchical and relational information structures; social networking/community features.
- Proven ability for high level of communication and collaboration with clients, design team, and other creative partners to ensure that agreed-upon user interface designs are properly executed.
- Proficiency in OmniGraffle or Visio, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of current web technologies, including xhtml, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, Flex, XML, and content management systems. Knowledgeable of best practices of all major web-based interfaces.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Excellent visual communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills. Fluency in English required. Multilingual a plus!
- Must be adaptable, open-minded, thorough and creative.
- Strong knowledge of Drupal, Drupal modules and the Drupal community.
- Strong knowledge of open source tools and applications on the web.
- Hands-on software coding ability.
- Hands-on graphic design ability.
- Blogging talent.
Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in information architecture, interaction design, user experience or related field.
- 3+ yrs of traditional or digital design experience, encompassing the following: multimedia, agency creative, production/planning, 3-D design (architecture), Internet design, graphic design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer-Interaction, Interface Design, Digital Design, Graphic Design, or related field. Masters or other advanced degrees preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Compensation:
$50,000-$100,000, depending upon experience and abilities.
